MP01.01 Executive Direction

General Fund Appropriation, provided that

$600,000 of this appropriation may only

be expended after the Department of

Health and Mental Hygiene and a

majority of managed care organizations

(MCOs) participating in HealthChoice

jointly submit a plan to the budget

committees outlining how they will

collaborate to ensure comprehensive

encounter data is submitted to the

department in a format acceptable to both

parties. Further provided that the

Department of Health and Mental

Hygiene shall withhold 10 percent of

capitation payments to MCOs for services

provided in July 1999 until the plan is

submitted. The budget committees shall
