PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor Ch. 35 (G) APPOINTMENT. "APPOINTMENT" MEANS AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN AN AGENT AND INSURER SPECIAL REVISOR'S NOTE: As enacted by Ch. 36, Acts of 1995, this subsection 166(e). Chapter _, Acts of 1997, repealed and reenacted this subsection without change. Defined terms: "Agent" § 1-101 (H) AUTHORIZED INSURER. "AUTHORIZED INSURER" MEANS AN INSURER THAT HOLDS A VALID SPECIAL REVISOR'S NOTE: As enacted by Ch. 36, Acts of 1995, this subsection 7(1). However, Ch. _, Acts of 1997, added the word "valid" to modify the term "certificate of authority" for clarity. The Insurance Article Review Committee noted in Ch. 36, for consideration Defined terms: "Certificate of authority" § 1-101 (I) BROKER. "BROKER" MEANS A PERSON THAT, FOR COMPENSATION, SOLICITS, PROCURES, (1) FOR INSUREDS OR PROSPECTIVE INSUREDS OTHER THAN THE (2) NOT FOR AN INSURER OR AGENT. SPECIAL REVISOR'S NOTE: As enacted by Ch. 36, Acts of 1995, this subsection 166(c). Chapter_, Acts of 1997, repealed and reenacted this subsection without change. In the introductory language of this subsection, Ch. 36 deleted the phrase "in - 751 -
