REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 19, §§ 23 and 23A.

In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to "[t]his section" is substituted
for the former reference to "[s]ection 23 of this article" to reflect that former
Art. 19, §§ 23 and 23A have been combined into a single section.

In the introductory language of subsection (b) of this section, the term
"Comptroller" is substituted for the former term "[h]e" for clarity.

Also in the introductory language of subsection (b) of this section, the former
term "description" is deleted as unnecessary in light of the term "kind".

In subsection (c) of this section, the term "kind" is substituted for the former
term "description" to conform with subsection (b) of this section.

4- 111. MANNER OF EXPRESSING ACCOUNTS.

(A) SCOPE OF SECTION.

THIS SECTION APPLIES TO ALL ACCOUNTS IN THE PUBLIC OFFICES OF THE
STATE AND ALL PROCEEDINGS IN THE COURTS OF THE STATE.

(B) ACCOUNTS TO BE EXPRESSED IN DOLLARS AND CENTS.

ALL ACCOUNTS IN THE STATE SHALL BE EXPRESSED IN DOLLARS AND CENTS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 95, § 37.

5- 101.1. OATH.

IN ADDITION TO THE OATH SPECIFIED IN ARTICLE I, § 9 OF THE MARYLAND
CONSTITUTION, THE TREASURER SHALL TAKE AN OATH TO DISCHARGE THE DUTIES
OF THE OFFICE OF TREASURER FAITHFULLY, DILIGENTLY, AND HONESTLY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 95, § 1.

The reference to "Article I, § 9" is substituted for the former obsolete
reference to the "sixth section of the first article" of the Maryland
Constitution.

8-205. SECRETARIES OF PRINCIPAL DEPARTMENTS; POWERS AND DUTIES.

(A) SERVING AT THE PLEASURE OF THE GOVERNOR.

THE SECRETARY OF EACH PRINCIPAL DEPARTMENT SERVES AT THE
PLEASURE OF THE GOVERNOR UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY LAW.

(B) DUTIES.
