1997 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(G) THE BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS SHALL ESTABLISH THE DAYS
AND HOURS OF SALE UNDER THIS LICENSE SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH §
11-512(B)(1) OF THIS ARTICLE.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - Counsel to the County Commissioners - Duties

FOR the purpose of eliminating the requirement that the legal counsel to the Board of
County Commissioners of Garrett County also serve as legal counsel to the Garrett
County Sheriff; making stylistic changes; and generally relating to the duties of the
County Attorney in Garrett County.

Article 12 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

(1985 Edition and December 1996 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 12 - Garrett County

20-9.

A. (1) The County Commissioners shall appoint [an] A COUNTY Attorney,
who shall provide legal counsel to the Commissioners AND HANDLE ANY ADDITIONAL
MATTERS AS MAY BE ASSIGNED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

(2) The salary of the County Attorney shall be as set by the County
Commissioners, and the County Attorney shall serve at the pleasure of the County
Commissioners.

[(3) The County Attorney shall be legal counsel to the Garrett County
Sheriff in addition to whatever other duties may be assigned by the County
Commissioners.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1997.
