(A) (1) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

(2)     "INSURANCE PROFESSIONAL" MEANS AN AGENT, BROKER,
MANAGING GENERAL AGENT, SURPLUS LINES BROKER, PUBLIC ADJUSTER, OR
INSURANCE ADVISER WHO HAS A VALID CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION.

(3)     "CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION" INCLUDES A LICENSE.

(B) (1) THE COMMISSIONER SHALL COLLECT THE FEES SET OUT IN THIS
SUBSECTION IN ADVANCE FROM THE PERSONS LISTED.

(2) INSURANCE PROFESSIONALS:

(a) Subject to the approval of the Treasurer, the Commissioner may provide by
regulation for the payment of unpaid premium taxes or [fees] THE UNPAID INSURANCE
REGULATION FEE owed by an insurer
in funds that are immediately available to the
State on the
date that the payment is due if the total of the unpaid premium taxes or fees
is at least $20,000.

(a) Except as provided in subsections (b) and (c) of this section, the
Commissioner shall pay all money collected under this article into the General Fund of
the State.
