Ch. 625 1997 LAWS OF MARYLAND
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the provisions of
Section 2 of this Act, this Act shall take effect October 1, 1997. It shall remain in effect for a
period of 3 years and 3 months and, at the end of December 31, 2000, with no further action
required by the General Assembly, this Act shall be abrogated and of no further force and
effect.

AN ACT concerning
Workers' Compensation Commission - Rehabilitation Practitioners - Registration
FOR the purpose of establishing certain educational and experience requirements for
individuals who provide vocational rehabilitation services under certain
circumstances; establishing a certain registration system; authorizing the State
Workers' Compensation Commission to waive certain requirements for registration
under certain circumstances; specifying the purpose of this Act; establishing an
Advisory Committee on the Registration of Rehabilitation Practitioners within the
Commission; specifying the selection of members and responsibilities of the
Advisory Committee; imposing a certain maximum limitation on a certain registration
fee; requiring the Commission to pay all money collected under this Act into a special
fund to be used for certain purposes; establishing certain hearing and appeal
procedures; defining certain terms; requiring a certain report; and generally relating
to establishing educational and experience requirements for certain individuals to
satisfy in order to provide certain rehabilitation services under certain
circumstances.
