set compensation for an attorney for the Board; providing that the attorney is

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows;

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

(f-1) (1) [In] THIS SUBSECTION APPLIES ONLY IN Caroline County[, the] .

(2)     (I) THE county codes administrator is the inspector for the Board of
License Commissioners.

[(2)] (II) The salary of the inspector shall be as provided in the county
budget. The duties of the inspector shall be as specified by the Board, including the
proper administration and enforcement of the alcoholic beverages laws of Caroline
County.

(3)      (I) THE BOARD MAY APPOINT AN ATTORNEY FOR THE BOARD.

(II)    THE SALARY COMPENSATION FOR THE ATTORNEY SHALL BE
SET BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

(III)   THE ATTORNEY IS SUBJECT TO THE COUNTY ETHICS
ORDINANCE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.
