SECTION 4. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 1 of this Act
shall take effect October 1, 1997.

SECTION 5, AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 2 of this Act shall
take effect October 1, 1997 and shall remain in effect until the expiration of §
13-810(a)(22) as enacted by Chapter 304 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1996.

SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 3 of this Act shall
take effect at that time when Section 2 of this Act no longer has any force or effect.

AN ACT concerning

Board of Physician Quality Assurance - Disciplinary Authority

FOR the purpose of altering a certain ground for discipline of physicians; adding certain
grounds for discipline of physicians; altering certain provisions of law requiring the
Board of Physician Quality Assurance to conduct certain hearings under certain
circumstances; requiring the Board to disclose certain information concerning
criminal activity to a law enforcement or prosecutorial official; authorizing requiring
the Board to provide portions of certain transcripts to certain persons; declaring the
intent of the General Assembly; and generally relating to the disciplinary authority
of the Board of Physician Quality Assurance.
