(i) (II) The Clerk of the Circuit Court may record an instrument that
effects a change of ownership if the instrument is:
1. Endorsed with the certificate of the County Treasurer
COLLECTOR OF TAXES OF THE COUNTY IN WHICH THE PROPERTY IS ASSESSED
required under subsection (b) of this section; and
2. Accompanied by:
A. A complete intake sheet; and
B. A copy of the instrument, and any survey, for submission to
the Department of Assessments and Taxation; and.
(it) (III) The Supervisor of Assessments shall transfer ownership of
property in the assessment records, effective as of the date of recordation, upon receipt
from the Clerk of the Circuit Court of a copy of the instrument, the completed intake
sheet, and any survey submitted under subparagraph (i) (II) of this paragraph.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Baltimore County Clerks of the Circuit Courts for Baltimore, Cecil, Charles,
Dorchester, Montgomery, Washington, and Worcester Counties, the Administrative
Office of the Courts, the State Department of Assessments and Taxation, and the
Treasurer for Baltimore County collectors of taxes for Baltimore, Cecil, Charles,
Dorchester, Montgomery, Washington, and Worcester Counties may formulate the
procedures governing recordation of instruments as authorized under this Act, so as to
simplify the procedures for recordation of instruments while ensuring the integrity of the
land and assessment records.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.
