shall be liberally construed to effect the purposes hereof. All Acts and parts of Acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed to the extent of such
inconsistency.

SECTION 10. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Charles County - County Officials - Salaries and Expenses

FOR the purpose of increasing the salaries of the Charles County Commissioners and the
Charles County Treasurer beginning at a certain time; providing for the increase in
expenses of the Charles County School Board Chairman at a certain time; providing
that this Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the incumbent
members of the Charles County Commissioners. Chairman of the Board of
Education, or the Treasurer; and generally relating to the increase in salary and
expenses for certain Charles County officials.
