(g) (1) The Governor may remove a member for incompetence or misconduct.

(2) Upon the recommendation of the Secretary, the Governor may remove a
member whom the Secretary finds to have been absent from 2 successive Board meetings
without adequate reason.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That nothing in this Act may
be construed to affect the term of any member of the State Board of Pharmacy who is
serving on the Board on the effective date of this Act.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Governor, in making
the four initial professional member appointments to the State Board of Pharmacy
authorized under § 12-202(a) of the Health Occupations Article, as enacted by Section 1
of this Act, may stagger those appointments and determine the associational groups from
which those appointments are to be made.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Washington County — Board of Education — Membership

FOR the purpose of altering the membership of the Washington County Board of
Education; and providing that the new members of the Board be elected at a certain
genera] election.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

3-1301.

(a) The Washington County Board consists of [five] SEVEN members.

(b) All [five] SEVEN members of the Washington County Board shall be elected
from Washington County at large at a genera] election every 4 years beginning in 1978.
