A person who violates any provision of this title is guilty of a misdemeanor and on
conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year
or both..

This title may be cited as the "Maryland Security Systems Technicians Act".

[Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment provisions of the Maryland Program
Evaluation Act, this] THIS title and all regulations adopted under this title shall

terminate and be of no further force and effect after September [31, 2001] 30, 2000 30,
2004.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Childhood Lead Screening Program

FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to establish
and administer a Lead Poisoning Screening Program, for certain purposes, and
using certain criteria, screening methods, and payment mechanisms; requiring the
Department of the Environment to assist local governments to provide case
management for certain individuals; requiring screening of certain individuals
residing in certain areas; requiring certain documentation to be provided to certain
child care providers within a certain period; requiring the Department of the
Environment, in conjunction with certain other units, to develop and report on a
certain plan by a certain date; requiring a certain case management program to be
in place by a certain date; deleting obsolete language; making this Act an emergency
measure; and generally relating to lead screening of children.
