(ii) agents, brokers, or policies of a company or group of companies
represented by agents or brokers who by contractual agreement represent only that
company or group of companies if:
1. the business is owned by the company or group of companies;
and
2. the cancellation of any contractual agreement does not result
in the cancellation or refusal to renew any policies.
(2) If an insurer intends to cancel a written agreement with an agent or
broker or intends to refuse a class of renewal business from an agent or broker, the
insurer shall give the agent or broker at least 90 days written notice.
(3) Notwithstanding any provision of the agreement to the contrary, the
insurer shall continue for at least [1 year] 2 YEARS after termination of the agency
agreement to renew through the agent or broker any of the policies that have not been
replaced with other insurers as expirations occur.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning
Business Occupations - Security Systems Technicians - Licensing and Registration
FOR the purpose of requiring the registration with the Secretary of the State Police of
certain individuals who perform security systems services or have access to certain
information about security systems under certain circumstances; establishing certain
procedures and requirements for registration under this Act; altering certain
application requirements for a license; requiring an applicant for a certain license to
obtain certain insurance or execute a fidelity bond in order to obtain a license;
authorizing temporary licenses and registrations under certain circumstances;
requiring the Secretary to adopt certain regulations and keep certain records;
requiring the Department of State Police to adopt certain regulations; providing for
the denial, suspension, or revocation of certain registrations under certain
circumstances; altering the circumstances under which the Secretary may waive a
certain criminal records check for certain licensees; requiring the Secretary to issue
certain photographic identification cards; altering the requirement that certain
persons that provide security systems services obtain a certain bond to cover certain
employees of the person; providing for the termination of certain provisions of law
extending the termination date of this title; making certain technical changes;
providing for certain exceptions from licensure and registration; providing for the
preemption of certain local laws; requiring licensees to pay the costs of certain
