To reduce the appropriation shown on page
96 of the printed bill (first reading file bill)
for non-public placements in order to make
the fiscal year 1998 appropriation more
consistent with past experience and trends.

Object .12 Grants, Subsidies and
Contributions

RA03.02 State Aided Educational Institutions

In addition to the appropriation shown on
page 99 of the printed bill (first reading file
bill), to provide funds for the renovation
and expansion of Blind Industries and
Services of Maryland's manufacturing
capacity. The facilities are located in
Baltimore, Cumberland, and Salisbury.

Object .12 Grants, Subsidies and
Contributions

General Fund Appropriation, provided that
with the additional appropriation, Blind
Industries and Services of Maryland will move
toward self-sufficiency within the next few
years. In Fiscal Year 2000, the State will begin
the process of reducing the State's
