PERFORMANCE STANDARDS ESTABLISHED BY THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE,
THE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS, AND
UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES.
(2) THE COMMISSION MAY ADOPT BY REGULATION ADDITIONAL
CONTROL AND TESTING REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBLE CUSTOMER-GENERATORS
THAT THE COMMISSION DETERMINES ARE NECESSARY TO PROTECT PUBLIC SAFETY
AND SYSTEM RELIABILITY.
(3) AN ELECTRIC COMPANY MAY NOT REQUIRE AN ELIGIBLE
CUSTOMER-GENERATOR WHOSE SOLAR-ELECTRIC GENERATING SYSTEM MEETS
THE STANDARDS OF PARAGRAPHS (1) AND (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION TO:
(I) INSTALL ADDITIONAL CONTROLS;
(II) PERFORM OR PAY FOR ADDITIONAL TESTS; OR
(III) PURCHASE ADDITIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning
Income Tax - Subtraction Modification for Volunteer Police Officers
FOR the purpose of providing a subtraction modification under the Maryland income tax
in certain amounts for certain qualifying volunteer police officers; providing certain
criteria for qualification for the subtraction modification; requiring police agencies
to maintain certain records and provide certain reports relating to certain volunteer
services; requiring each police agency to submit a certain annual report to the
Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and the Comptroller's
Office; providing for a certain penalty under certain circumstances; providing for
the application of this Act; providing for a delayed effective date; and generally
relating to a subtraction modification under the Maryland income tax in certain
amounts for certain qualifying volunteer police officers.
BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
