PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor Ch. 482

(1) ON A FIRST OFFENSE, MAY CONTACT A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER;

AND

(2) ON A SECOND OR SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE, shall immediately contact a law enforcement officer.

(e) A law enforcement officer contacted by school authorities in accordance with
subsection (d) of this section:

(1) Shall immediately inquire as to the reasons the individual possesses the

pager; and

(2) May arrest the violator.

(f) Any person who violates subsection (b) of this section is guilty of a
misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $2,500, imprisonment
not exceeding 6 months, or both.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1997.

CHAPTER 482
(House Bill 803)

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore County - Nuisance Abatement and Local-Code Enforcement - Community
Associations - Enforcement Authority Standing to Seek Judicial Relief

FOR the purpose of allowing qualifying certain community associations to bring certain
actions in the circuit court against qualifying for Baltimore County for relief from
certain nuisances, based on certain code violations, located within Baltimore County
under certain circumstances; requiring certain notices to the County code
enforcement agency and to certain tenants and property owners under certain
circumstances; requiring the filing of a bond for certain purposes court to make
certain determinations concerning a bond under certain circumstances; requiring
that a proceeding under this Act be expedited in certain manners
; providing that a
political subdivision may not be subject to certain actions; providing for and limiting
the construction of this Act; defining certain terms; and generally relating to the
right of community associations to seek judicial relief for nuisance abatement of
certain nuisances in Baltimore County.
