CHAPTER 445
(House Bill 456)

AN ACT concerning

State Board of Electrologists

FOR the purpose of requiring the State Board of Electrologists, after receiving notice
that an electrologist has opened an office, inspect the office to determine
compliance with certain regulations; requiring the Board to provide certain notice
before the inspection; authorizing the Board to take certain disciplinary actions if
the inspection is refused; repealing certain obsolete requirements related to
issuance of electrology licenses; setting certain educational standards for the
issuance after a certain date of an electrology license; requiring a certain
examination to be passed before certain licenses may be reactivated or reinstated;
and generally relating to the authority of the State Board of Electrologists.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 6-205, 6-302(d), 6-310(a) and (b), and 6-312(a)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

6-205.

In addition to the powers and duties set forth elsewhere in this title, the Board has
the following powers and duties:

(1) To adopt rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of this title;

(2) To adopt standards for the practice of electrology;

(3) To keep records of its proceedings;

(4) To keep a list of all currently licensed electrologists and licensed
electrology instructors;

(5) To submit an annual report to the Governor and the Secretary;

(6) To establish continuing education requirements;

(7) To refer to the State's Attorney any alleged violation of this title;

(8) In accordance with the State budget, to incur any necessary expense that
relates to the referral of an alleged violation of the criminal provisions of this title;
