(1993 Replacement Volume and 1996 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative Departments

4-501.

In the construction of this subtitle, the following definitions shall conclusively
determine the meaning of the terms used:

(13) "Mandatory supervision" is a conditional release from imprisonment
which is granted to any person SERVING A TERM OF CONFINEMENT OF MORE THAN 12
MONTHS WHO WAS sentenced after July 1, 1970 to the jurisdiction of the Division of
Correction, AND who has served the term or terms, less the deductions provided for in
Article 27, §§ 700 and 704A of the Code. This conditional release was previously referred
to as "mandatory release".

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1997 and apply to any individual in the custody of the Division of Correction of
the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services on or after June 1,
1997.

(House Bill 202)

AN ACT concerning

Alcoholic Beverages - Micro-Brewery License Authority

FOR the purpose of altering the number of barrels a Class 7 micro-brewery licensee may
brew; restricting the amount that such a licensee may sell on the retail premises;
requiring a Class 7 licensee who wishes to brew more than the maximum barrelage
under this Act to divest of a certain license; authorizing a Class 7 micro-brewery
licensee to hold a Class 2 rectifying license under certain conditions; authorizing the
holder of a Class 2 rectifying license to sell to the holder of any class of wholesale
license; authorizing a Class 7 micro-brewery licensee to contract, brew, and store
the finished product at another licensed location; providing for the effective date of
this Act; and generally relating to micro-brewery licenses.
