the Festival provided that the weekend that is selected does not occur [within 14 days on
either side of] ON THE SAME WEEKEND AS the Maryland Wine Festival;

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Worcester County - Alcoholic Beverages
(Penalties)

FOR the purpose of altering the standard penalties permitted to be imposed by the
Worcester County Board of License Commissioners; and generally relating to
alcoholic beverages in Worcester County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

16-507.

(y) (1) [In] THIS SUBSECTION APPLIES ONLY IN Worcester County[, the].

(2) THE Board of License Commissioners may [either] impose BOTH a fine
of not more than [$1,000, or] $4,000, AND suspend an alcoholic beverage license, for any
violation of the alcoholic beverage laws affecting Worcester County.

(3) All moneys collected under this subsection shall be deposited into the
general funds of the County.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.
