defining a certain term; making technical changes; and generally relating to proof of
insurance for the registration of certain rental vehicles providing that clarifying the
effect of a waiver of personal injury protection under a certain private passenger
motor vehicle liability insurance policies; policy constitutes a waiver of certain
benefits whether provided under a certain vehicle policy issued to a certain owner of
rental vehicles or under providing that a waiver of personal injury protection constitutes
a waiver of certain benefits under another certain form of security used by a certain
owner of rental vehicles; and generally relating to waivers of personal at jury protection
under motor vehicle insurance policies.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Transportation
17-103.
(b) The security required under this subtitle shall provide for at least:
(1) The payment of claims for bodily injury or death arising from an
accident of up to $20,000 for any one person and up to $40,000 for any two or more
persons, in addition to interest and costs;
(2) The payment of claims for property of others damaged or destroyed in
an accident of up to $10,000, in addition to interest and costs;
(3) Unless waived, the benefits described under Article 48A, § 539 of the
Code as to basic required primary coverage; and
(4) The benefits required under Article 48A, § 541 of the Code as to
required additional coverage.
