funds for an additional class of 75 troopers.
Graduates of this additional class will allow
the Department to reassign more
experienced troopers to implement violent
crimes initiatives throughout the State.

WA01.05 State Aid for Police Protection Fund

passage of this budget to supplement the
appropriation for fiscal year 1997 to provide
funds for increased aid to the per capita and
per officer payment to local governments

587 and 588, Acts of 1996 (Article 88B,
Section 66).

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That in order to carry out the
provisions of these appropriations the Secretary of Budget and Management is
authorized:

(a) To allot all or any portion of the funds herein appropriated to the various
