SA25.12 Neighborhood Business Development -

Capital Appropriation

General Fund Appropriation, provided that
$7,000,000 $6,250,000 of this appropriation,
made for the purpose of neighborhood
revitalization programs, may only be used to
fund projects which are located within
Department of Housing and Community

Development (DHCD) designated

revitalization areas. The department shall
jointly develop and select revitalization
projects in coordination with the Maryland
Department of Transportation (MDOT) and
the Department of Business and Economic
Development (DEED). In order to maximize
the resources of the three agencies, it is the
intent of the budget committees that the
selection criteria for proposed revitalization
projects are modified to ensure that joint
efforts receive the highest priority.

Further provided that a report which lists the
projects and areas targeted for funding in
Fiscal Year 1998, and how those projects are
coordinated with MDOT and DEED projects
shall be jointly developed by the DHCP,
MDOT, and DEED and submitted to the
budget committees by October 15, 1997, for
review and comment or the passage of 45 days
from the date of receipt...................................
