HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION SHALL INCLUDE AS PART OF ITS
BENEFIT PACKAGE OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED TO MEMBERS AND
SUBSCRIBERS COVERAGE FOR TRANSFUSIONS OF BLOOD PRODUCTS, BOTH
DERIVATIVES AND COMPONENTS, THAT ARE NECESSARY AS PART OF A
CONTINUING COURSE OF TREATMENT OR MEDICAL THERAPY.

(n) the provisions of § 15-803 of the insurance article shall apply
to health maintenance organizations.
SECT/ON 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall apply to all new
health benefit policies or contracts issued or delivered in the State on or after October 1, 1997
and to the renewal of all health benefit policies or contracts in effect before October 1, 1997,
except that any health benefit policy or contract in effect before October 1, 1997 shall comply
with the provisions of this Act no later than October 1, 1998.
SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning
Public School Property - Possession of Portable Pager
FOR the purpose of providing an exception to the provision of law prohibiting possession
of a portable pager on public school property; specifying that a pager contained in
a vehicle, under certain circumstances, is not a violation of the law; and specifying
that students under a certain age who violate the prohibition against possessing a
portable pager on public school property shall be referred to their respective county
board for disciplinary action generally relating to possession of portable pagers on
public school property.
