RA02.20 Baltimore City Partnership funding

General Fund Appropriation, provided that
this appropriation is contingent upon
enactment of legislation (House Bill
312/Senate Bill 795) creating the New
Baltimore City Board of School
Commissioners.

Further provided that the following amounts
of this appropriation may only be expended
for the purposes indicated and are subject
to the restrictions provided:

(1)    $2,000,000 for assistance to the ten
reconstitution eligible schools identified in
1997;

(2)    $350,000 for consultants to assist in the
development of the transition plan and
master plan;

(3)    $600,000 for a comprehensive audit by an
independent auditor due by November 1,
1997; and

(4)    $550,000 for coordination and
orientation of the new school board and new
staff and monitoring of the restructuring by
the State Department of Education.

No funds hereby restricted may be expended
except upon certification by the State
Department of Education that funds will be
expended for the purposes indicated............
