AN ACT concerning

Baltimore City Deputy Sheriffs—Pensions and Retirement
Law Enforcement Officers' Pension System - Membership

FOR the purpose of authorizing certain Baltimore City Deputy Sheriffs to become
members of the Law Enforcement Officers' Pension System; providing for certain
exceptions; requiring individuals for whom membership in the Law Enforcement
Officers' Pension System is optional to apply for membership on or before a certain
date; prohibiting those individuals from electing membership on or after a certain
date; and generally relating to membership of Baltimore City Deputy Sheriffs in the
Law Enforcement Officers' Pension System.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

26-201.

This (A) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, THIS
subtitle applies only to:

(1) an employee of the Department of Natural Resources commissioned by
the Secretary of Natural Resources as:

(i) a Natural Resources police officer; or

(ii) a law enforcement officer, other than a Natural Resources police

officer; [or]

(2) a law enforcement officer employed by the Maryland Investigative
Services Unit; OR
