QA01.05 Capital Appropriation

The General Assembly is concerned about
future funding for the Public Safety
Training Center. The PAYGO funding plan
approved for this project provides that the
final phase of the training center will be
funded in Fiscal Year 2007. This means that
Maryland won't realize the full benefits
associated with improved training offered
by the new Public Safety Training Center
until Fiscal Year 2009 after construction is
completed. The General Assembly requests
that the administration review the Public
Safety Training Center's construction
phasing schedule to develop a funding plan
