(2) EVERY PERSON VIOLATING THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION IN
WHICH THE VALUE OF THE MONEY OR GOODS IS LESS THAN $500 $1,000 IS GUILTY OF
A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON A CONVICTION SHALL:

(I) MAKE FULL RESTITUTION OF THE MONEY OR GOODS
UNLAWFULLY RECEIVED OR PERFORM COMMUNITY SERVICE, AS DETERMINED BY
THE COURT; AND

(H) BE SUBJECT TO A FINE OF NOT MORE THAN $1,000 OR
IMPRISONMENT FOR A PERIOD NOT TO EXCEED 3 YEARS OR BOTH.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Weights and Measures - Method or Sale of Poultry and Flour Products

FOR the purpose of altering the method of sale of certain commodities and removing a
certain label requirement under the Weights and Measures Law; and generally
relating to regulation of weights and measures.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Agriculture

11-310.

(a) (1) Except as provided in this subsection or as specified by the Secretary,
any meat, meat product, poultry, and all seafood offered or exposed for sale or sold as
food shall be offered or exposed for sale and sold by weight.

(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (1) of this subsection, the
following products may be offered or exposed for sale or sold by weight, measure, or
count:

(i) Shellfish;
