PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor Ch. 94

Montgomery County], the ad valorem tax shall not exceed 1 cent per $100 of assessed
valuation. This tax shall be in an amount necessary to pay the sums required for the
maintenance of:

(i) Storm drainage systems in that portion of the sanitary district in
Montgomery County and previously maintained by the WSSC; and

(ii) On application of a municipality, those storm drainage systems
previously maintained by the municipality.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County and Prince George's County - School Board Election Districts -

Boundaries

MC/PG 5-97

FOR the purpose of altering the boundaries of the school board districts for the election
of members to the Board of Education for Montgomery County and for the election
of the members to the Board of Education for Prince George's County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Education
Section 3-901 and 3-1001
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1997 Replacement Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

3-901.

(a) In this subtitle, the following words have the meanings indicated:

(1) "Elected member" means 1 of the 7 elected and voting members of the
Montgomery County Board or a member appointed to fill a vacancy of 1 of these 7
members.

(2) "Board of Education District" means a geographic area of Montgomery
County in which an elected member of the Montgomery County Board of Education must
