(A) IN THIS SECTION, "PROGRAM" MEANS THE COMMUNITY SERVICES
ALTERNATIVE SENTENCING PROGRAM.

(B) THERE IS A COMMUNITY SERVICES ALTERNATIVE SENTENCING
PROGRAM IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF CALVERT COUNTY.

(C) THE PROGRAM SHALL ADMINISTER COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS FOR
DEFENDANTS WHO ARE CONVICTED OF AN OFFENSE AND ARE REFERRED TO THE
PROGRAM BY THE CIRCUIT COURT OR THE DISTRICT COURT OF CALVERT COUNTY.

(D) THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CALVERT COUNTY MAY
CHARGE A REASONABLE FEE TO DEFENDANTS WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM
TO HELP DEFRAY PROGRAM EXPENSES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1997.

AN ACT concerning

Calvert County - Board of County Commissioners - Tax Exempt Private Activity Bonds

FOR the purpose of allowing the Board of County Commissioners of Calvert County to
charge a fee for the issuance of certain tax exempt bonds; requiring the Board to
dedicate the proceeds of the fee to a certain loan fund in the County; and generally
relating to the powers of the Board of County Commissioners of Calvert County.
