personnel, records, files, furniture, fixtures, and other properties and all appropriations,
credits, assets, liabilities, and obligations of each retained unit are continued as the
personnel, records, files, furniture, fixtures, properties, appropriations, credits, assets,
liabilities, and obligations of the unit under the laws enacted by this Act.
SECTION 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, except as expressly
provided to the contrary in this Act, any person licensed, registered, certified, or issued a
permit by any board, commission, agency, or other unit established or continued by any
statute amended, repealed, or transferred by this Act is considered for all purposes to be
licensed, registered, certified, or issued a permit by the appropriate unit continued under
this Act for the duration of the term for which the license, registration, certification, or
permit was issued, and may renew that authorization in accordance with the appropriate
renewal provisions of this Act. Except as expressly provided to the contrary in this Act, a
person who was originally licensed, registered, or certified under a provision of law that
has been deleted by this Act as obsolete, continues to meet the educational and
experience requirements to the same extent as if that provision had not been deleted.
SECTION 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the approval of
the Director of the Department of Legislative Reference, the publishers of the Annotated
Code of Maryland shall propose the correction of cross-references that are rendered
incorrect by this Act.
SECTION 10. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 1997.
