Fund to the State General Fund;
provided, however, that the amount of
$13,600,000 will be repaid to the
Dedicated Purpose Account during
fiscal years 1998 and 1999. And further
provided, that this appropriation is to be
used for a reconstituted school in
Somerset County and is contingent upon
the State Superintendent of Schools'
approval of the Board of Education of
Somerset County's school improvement
plan.

36.01.02.13 Innovative Programs

In addition to the appropriation shown on
page 98 of the printed bill (first reading file
bill), to provide funds for the initital steps in
the State and Baltimore City partnership
agreement for the management of the
Baltimore City School System.

Object .12 Grants, Subsidies and
Contributions

General Fund Appropriation, provided
that this appropriation is contingent
upon the enactment of legislation
permitting the Governor to transfer a
total of $13,600,000 from the fiscal year
1996 appropriation to the Dedicated
Purpose Account of the State Reserve
Fund to the State General Fund;
provided, however, that the amount of
$13,600,000 will be repaid to the
Dedicated Purpose Account during
fiscal years 1998 and 1999. And further
provided, that $7,000,000 of this
appropriation is to be used for
reconstituted schools in Baltimore City
and is contingent upon the State
Superintendent of Schools' approval of
the Baltimore City School System's
school improvement plans. And further
provided, that $3,000,000 of this
appropriation is to be used for marginal
schools in Baltimore City and is subject
to the approval of the State
Superintendent of Schools. And further
