It is the intent of the General Assembly that
the position of Assistant Secretary for
Business and Regulatory Services be
adjusted to Executive Level VI, base step 2,
at a salary of $70,912 $75,233. This reduces
the current salary level of $79,813 by $8,901
$4,580. Further, as the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene reviews its
staffing requirements in conjunction with
allocating the position abolitions contained
in the appropriation, administrative and
executive level positions should be

examined carefully. Performance,

experience, and level of responsibility
should be carefully weighed in determining
positions and salary levels.
