Workers' Compensation - Benefits for Permanent Partial Disability—Extension of Sunset

Provision

FOR the purpose of delaying the termination of certain changes to the workers'
compensation benefit structure for permanent partial disability in order to continue
to exempt loss of the thumb, fingers, and great toe from the lower tier of benefits;
altering the membership of a certain committee; and generally relating to delaying the
termination of c
ertain changes to the benefit structure for permanent partial
disability
workers' compensation.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments;

Chapter 591 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1987, as amended by Chapter
11 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1989, Chapter 97 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1990, Chapter 545 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1992, and Chapter 171 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1994

Section 8                         .               .

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Government
2-10A-03.

(a)     There is a Joint Committee on Workers' Compensation Benefit and Insurance
Oversight.

(b)     (1) The Committee consists of [12] 14 members.

(2) Of the [12] 14 members:

(i)       1. 2 shall be members of the Senate appointed by the President of
the Senate;

2. 2 shall be Delegates appointed by the Speaker; and

(ii) [8] 10 shall be appointed jointly by the President and the Speaker as
follows:
