The Honorable Casper R. Taylor, Jr.
Speaker of the House
State House

Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed House Bill 1131.
This bill changes the reinstatement fee from $85 to $100 for any licenses reinstated by the
State Board of Architects, the State Board of Examiners of Landscape Architects, the
State Board for Professional Engineers, and the State Board for Professional Land
Surveyors. In addition to the reinstatement fee, a licensee is required to pay all past due
renewal fees.
Senate Bill 470, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 14,
1996, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 1131.
Sincerely,
Parris N. Glendening
