(c) Any law enforcement officer responding to such a request shall have the
immunity from liability described under § 5-326 of the Courts [and Judicial Proceedings]
Article.

[ 771.] 799. SAME — NOTICE OF VICTIM'S RIGHTS WHEN RESPONDING TO DOMESTIC
ABUSE.

(a)     When a law enforcement officer responds to a request for assistance under [ §
11F] § 798 of this [article] SUBHEADING, the officer shall give the victim a copy of a
written notice that:

(1)     States that the victim may:

(i) Request that a District Court commissioner file a criminal
charging document against the alleged abuser;

(ii) If the commissioner declines to charge the alleged abuser, request
that the State's Attorney file a criminal charging document against the alleged abuser;
and

(iii) File a petition for relief from abuse in the District Court or circuit
court under Title 4, Subtitle 5 of the Family Law Article; and

(2)     Includes the telephone number of any local domestic violence program
that receives funding from the Department of Human Resources.

(b)     A law enforcement officer may not be held liable in any civil action arising
from the officer's failure to provide the notice required under subsection (a) of this
section.

[772.] 800. SAME — REPORT OF DOMESTIC ABUSE TO STATE POLICE AND VICTIM.

When a law enforcement officer responds to a request for assistance under [§ 11F
of this article] § 798 OF THIS SUBHEADING and an incident report is filed, the law
enforcement agency shall provide a copy of the report to the Department of State Police
and, on request, to the victim without a subpoena.

801. CIVIL PROTECTIVE ORDERS.

A VICTIM OF ABUSE HAS THE RIGHT TO SEEK RELIEF PROVIDED BY CIVIL
PROTECTIVE ORDERS AND OTHER REMEDIES PROVIDED UNDER §§ 4-501 THROUGH
4-507 OF THE FAMILY LAW ARTICLE.
