H.B. 100

VETOES

May 23, 1996

The Honorable Casper R. Taylor, Jr.
Speaker of the House
State House
Annapolis MD 21401

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed House Bill 100.

This bill expands the law enforcement authority of certain employees of the Investigative
Services Unit of the Comptroller's Office to include laws pertaining to the motor fuel tax,
the motor carrier tax, motor fuel and lubricants, and transient vendors.

Senate Bill 726, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on this
date, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 100.

Sincerely,

Parris N. Glendening

Governor
