(2)     Be a candidate for any public office or office in a political party;

(3)     Use the employee's official authority or influence to interfere with or
affect the result of an election; or

(4)     Actively participate in political management or political campaigns.

(f)     In Baltimore City, the board may not have more than 45 employees or the
number set by the Secretary of Personnel.

(g)     An election judge or an attorney to an election board may not be:

(1)     A candidate for any public office or office in a political party;

(2)     A campaign manager for a candidate; or

(3)     A treasurer for a candidate or political committee.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1996.

AN ACT concerning

CHAPTER 684
(House Bill 426)

Disease Prevention - Rabies - Ferrets

FOR the purpose of excluding domestic ferrets from the animals that the Secretary of
Health and Mental Hygiene may find to be dangerous to human health and safety;
requiring certain ferrets to be vaccinated against rabies; requiring a person that
owns or keeps a ferret to submit proof of vaccination with an application for county
registration or licensing; requiring a licensed veterinarian who vaccinates a ferret to
provide the owner with a certain vaccination certificate; requiring the quarantine of
certain animals that have been vaccinated against rabies that bite or expose a
human to rabies under certain circumstances: limiting the authority of a public
health veterinarian or local health officer to destroy an animal for rabies testing to
animals clinically susp
ected of rabies; and generally relating to the vaccination and
rabies testing of dogs, cats, and ferrets.
