with these functions that are in existence on the effective date of this Act shall continue
in effect until completed, withdrawn, canceled, modified, or otherwise changed pursuant
to law.
SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That any funds remaining in
the Lighthouse Preservation Special Fund as of July 1, 1996 shall be transferred to the
MHT Grant Fund established under Article 83B, § 5-613 of the Code.
SECTION 7. 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any provision of this
Act or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid for any reason
in a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or any
other application of this Act which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and for this purpose the provisions of this Act are declared severable.
SECTION 8. 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1996.

AN ACT concerning
Transportation Mass Transit - Mass Transit Administration— Fares and Other Revenues
and Security
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Mass Transit Administration Maryland Department
of Transportation to exempt a mass transit bus or rail service that has been in
operation for less than a certain period of time from certain calculations regarding
Administration recovery of a certain percentage of certain fares and operating
revenues; prohibiting the annual costs for all mass transit bus and rail service from
exceeding the legislative appropriation for a fiscal year: prohibiting the cost of
certain now bus service from exceeding a certain amount; requiring the Department
to provide certain reports; providing for the effective date termination of this Act;
and generally relating to fares, revenues, and costs of mass transit bus and rail
services.
BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
