Ch. 561                                    1996 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(b)     The term "person" includes an individual, partnership, association or
corporation.

(c)     The term "pistol or revolver" means any firearm with barrel less than twelve
inches in length, including signal, starter, and blank pistols.

(d)     The term "dealer" means any person engaged in the business of selling
firearms at wholesale or retail, or any person engaged in the business of repairing such
firearms.

(e)     The term "crime of violence" means abduction; arson in the first degree;
burglary in the first, second, or third degree; escape; kidnapping; manslaughter, excepting
involuntary manslaughter; mayhem; murder; rape; robbery; robbery with a deadly
weapon; carjacking or armed carjacking; sexual offense in the first degree; and sodomy; or
an attempt to commit any of the aforesaid offenses; or assault with intent to commit any
other offense punishable by imprisonment for more than one year..

(f)     The term "fugitive from justice" means any person who has fled from a sheriff
or other peace officer within this State, or who has fled from any state, territory or the
District of Columbia, or possession of the United States, to avoid prosecution for a crime
of violence or to avoid giving testimony in any criminal proceeding.

(g)     The term "antique pistol or revolver" means:

(1)     Any pistol or revolver (including any pistol or revolver with a matchlock,
flintlock, percussion cap, or similar type of ignition system) manufactured in or before
1898; and

(2)     Any replica of any pistol or revolver described in paragraph (1) if the
replica:

(i) Is not designed or redesigned for using rimfire or conventional
centerfire fixed ammunition; or

(ii) Uses rimfire or conventional centerfire fixed ammunition which is
no longer manufactured in the United States and which is not readily available in the
ordinary channels of commercial trade.]

(B)     "ALCOHOL OFFENSE" MEANS AN OFFENSE UNDER § 21-902(A), (B), OR (C)
OF THE TRANSPORTATION ARTICLE OR § 388A OF THIS ARTICLE

(C)     "ANTIQUE FIREARM" MEANS:

(1) ANY FIREARM (INCLUDING ANY FIREARM WITH A MATCHLOCK,
FLINTLOCK, PERCUSSION CAP, OR SIMILAR TYPE OF IGNITION SYSTEM)
MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO 1899; OR
