AN ACT concerning

Natural Resources - Ammunition Regulation Hunting - Wildlife

FOR the purpose of altering the authority of the Department of Natural Resources to
regulate ammunition used for hunting the hunting of designated wildlife; and
providing for the effective date of this Act.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

The Department shall prescribe by regulation the means or weapons for hunting
designated wildlife [pursuant to the privileges granted by a hunter's license]. The
Department shall set forth any restrictions relating to weapons AND AMMUNITION used
to hunt designated wildlife[, including the amount and size of ammunition for designated
game birds or mammals]. The Department shall make the regulations available for
distribution with each hunting license purchased. This section does not authorize the
Department to restrict the use of firearms except in the [exercise of the privileges of a
hunting license] ACTIVITY OF HUNTING DESIGNATED WILDLIFE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1996.
