AN ACT concerning

State Board of Barbers - Sunset Extension

FOR the purpose of extending the termination date for the provisions of law relating to
barbers and the State Board of Barbers; providing that, by a certain date, the
Department of Fiscal Services shall complete a certain evaluation of the State
Board of Barbers and the regulations that relate to the State Board of Barbers;
providing for the effective date of this Act; and generally relating to the State Board
of Barbers.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Business Occupations and Professions

4-702.

Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment provisions of the Maryland Program
Evaluation Act, this title and all regulations adopted under this title shall terminate and
be of no effect after July 1, [ 1996] 2001.

Article - State Government

8-403.

(L) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (E) OF THIS SECTION,
ON OR BEFORE JULY 1, 2000, AN EVALUATION SHALL BE MADE OF THE STATE BOARD
OF BARBERS AND THE REGULATIONS THAT RELATE TO THE STATE BOARD OF
BARBERS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October July 1, 1996.
