SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative Departments

18-106.

(C) A CELLULAR TELEPHONE COMPANY OR PERSONAL COMMUNICATION
COMPANY THAT PAYS OR COLLECTS 911 FEES UNDER § 18-105 OF THIS SUBTITLE
SHALL HAVE THE SAME IMMUNITY FROM LIABILITY FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURES
AS THAT APPROVED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION FOR LOCAL EXCHANGE
TELEPHONE COMPANIES THAT ARE SUBJECT TO THE REGULATION OF THE
COMMISSION UNDER ARTICLE 78 OF THE CODE

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1996.
