Ch. 347 1996 LAWS OF MARYLAND (d) A unit may appoint an individual to be a temporary extra employee to a (e) The appointment of a temporary extra employee under this section: (1) may not exceed 6 months; and (2) to the extent practicable, shall be made from a list of eligible 13-101. (A) IN THIS TITLE, "CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYEE" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL: (1) WHO, UNDER A WRITTEN AGREEMENT, PROVIDES TEMPORARY (2) WHO IS NOT EMPLOYED IN A BUDGETED POSITION; AND (3) WHO HAS AN EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE (I) FURNISHES NECESSARY TOOLS AND A PLACE TO WORK; (II) HAS THE RIGHT TO CONTROL AND DIRECT THE DETAILS, (III) HAS THE RIGHT TO DISCHARGE THE INDIVIDUAL FROM (B) "CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYEE" DOES NOT INCLUDE AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS (1) AN EMPLOYEE IN THE: (II) PROFESSIONAL SERVICE; (2) AN EMERGENCY EMPLOYEE Subtitle 2. Contractual Employees Generally.
