(i) On the land or such portion of the land acceptable to the Trust;
and

(ii) On the exterior and interior, where appropriate, of the historic
structures.

(b) The easement must be in form and substance acceptable to the Trust
and the extent of the interest to be encumbered must be acceptable to the Trust.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1996.

AN ACT concerning

Howard County - Workers' Compensation - Volunteer Companies

Ho. Co. 24-96

FOR the purpose of clarifying that in Howard County, an individual is a "covered
employee" for purposes of the workers' compensation law if the individual is not on
duty, but is participating in the activities of the volunteer company.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

9-234.

(o) An individual is a covered employee:

(1)     while on duty as an actively participating member of a volunteer
company in Howard County; or

(2)     if not covered under item (1) of this subsection, while a member of a
volunteer company in Howard County PARTICIPATING IN THE ACTIVITIES OF THE
VOLUNTEER COMPANY.
