(b) (1) (i) [Upon] SUBJECT TO PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION, UPON
the termination of professional major league baseball and professional football games at
Memorial Stadium in Baltimore City, the Authority may enter into agreements with Baltimore
City to provide for the continued use of the Memorial Stadium facility, generally for baseball
and football games, and may maintain the Memorial Stadium facility.
(ii) Such agreements as provided for in this section may provide for the
ownership and management of the Memorial Stadium facility by the Authority.
[(2) (i)] (III) Contingent upon the entrance into such agreements by the
Authority concerning the Memorial Stadium facility, the Authority may provide for the
continued use of Memorial Stadium as is considered economically feasible by the Board of
Public. Works.
[(ii)] (IV) If such use is deemed to no longer be economically feasible by
the Board of Public Works, upon consulting with the Baltimore City Department of Planning,
the [Neighborhood Progress Administration] BALTIMORE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION,
the. Northeast Community Organization, the Coldstream Homestead Montebello Community
[Organization] CORPORATION, the Waverly [Community] IMPROVEMENT Association,
THE BETTER WAVERLY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION THE GREATER HOMEWOOD
COMMUNITY CORPORATION, the Ednor Gardens-Lakeside [Improvement] CIVIC
Association, and community groups representing the neighborhoods adjacent to Memorial
Stadium, the Authority may prepare, present, and fund a plan for the reclamation of the
Memorial Stadium site which shall be consistent with the local laws of Baltimore City.
(2) (I) DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL
STADIUM AT CAMDEN YARDS, IF NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE GAMES ARE PLAYED AT
MEMORIAL STADIUM, AN EVENT OTHER THAN EXHIBITION PRESEASON, REGULAR
SEASON, OR PLAYOFF NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE GAMES OR OTHER SPORTING
EVENTS MAY BE HELD AT MEMORIAL STADIUM ONLY IF THE MAYOR OF BALTIMORE CITY
APPROVES THE EVENT, AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE MEMORIAL STADIUM
REDEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE INTERIM USE COMMITTEE.
(II) A COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION MAY SPONSOR AN ACTIVITY IN A
PARKING AREA LOCATED AT MEMORIAL STADIUM ONLY IF:
1. THE ACTIVITY HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE MAYOR OF
BALTIMORE CITY AND THE MARYLAND STADIUM AUTHORITY;
2. THE ACTIVITY DOES NOT IN ANY WAY INTERFERE WITH OR
IMPEDE THE AVAILABILITY OF PARKING OR TRAFFIC FLOW ASSOCIATED WITH A
NATIONAL LEAGUE FOOTBALL GAME BEING PLAYED AT MEMORIAL STADIUM OR OTHER
EVENT SCHEDULED BY THE MARYLAND STADIUM AUTHORITY; AND
3. THE COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION SPONSORING THE EVENT
IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE EVENT.
