Ch. 322                                    1996 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(3)     With the approval of the Governor, the Director may be removed by the
Secretary.

(4)     Any such removal by the Secretary is final and is not subject to any
appeal.

(b)     The Director shall be selected because of known experience and interest in
tourism [and promotion], FILM, AND THE ARTS.

(c)     The Director shall operate this Division under the direction of the Secretary
in accordance with the provisions of law.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1996.

(House Bill 1252)

AN ACT concerning

Alcoholic Beverages - Class 5 Licenses
(Tasting and Selling Privileges)

FOR the purpose of permitting that a Class 5 brewery may both serve and sell beer at the
brewery, subject to certain restrictions; and generally relating to Class 5
manufacturer's licenses.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
Section 2-206

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1994 Replacement Volume and 1995 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

2-206.

(A) A Class 5 manufacturer's license:

(1)     Is a brewery license; and

(2)     Authorizes the holder to:

(i) Establish and operate in this State a plant for brewing and bottling
malt beverages at the location described in the license;
