(b) The easement must be in form and substance acceptable to the Trust
and the extent of the interest to be encumbered must be acceptable to the Trust.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1996.

AN ACT concerning

Anne Arundel County - Sheriff- Part-time Deputies

FOR the purpose of allowing the Sheriff of Anne Arundel County to appoint part-time
deputies under certain circumstances; limiting the number of hours per week that a
part-time deputy may work; allowing the Sheriff to establish the salary of a
part-time deputy; providing that a part-time deputy is not eligible for certain
benefits unless approved by the County Council; and generally relating to the
appointment of part-time deputies in Anne Arundel County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

(c) (1) The Sheriff of Anne Arundel County shall receive a salary of:

(i) $44,500 in calendar year 1995;

(ii) $45,900 in calendar year 1996;

(iii) $47,300 in calendar year 1997; and

(iv) $48,700 in calendar year 1998 and thereafter.

(2) (i) The Sheriff of Anne Arundel County shall appoint deputies at a
salary as provided by the County Council.

(ii) The Sheriff may appoint a chief deputy who shall serve at the
pleasure of the Sheriff.
