CHAPTER 242
(House Bill 547)

AN ACT concerning

Board of Trustees of the Maryland Teachers and State Employees Supplemental
Retirement Plans - Appointment of Chairman

FOR the purpose of expanding the list of members of the Board of Trustees of the
Maryland Teachers and State Employees Supplemental Retirement Plans who are
eligible to be appointed the Chairman; and generally relating to the appointment of
the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Teachers and State
Employees Supplemental Retirement Plans.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
Article - State Personnel and Pensions
Section 35-201 and 35-202
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1994 Volume and 1995 Supplement)

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - State Personnel and Pensions
Section 35-203
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1994 Volume and 1995 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Personnel and Pensions

35-201.

There is a Board of Trustees of the Maryland Teachers and State Employees
Supplemental Retirement Plans.

35-202.

(a) (1) The Board consists of nine members appointed by the Governor.
(2) Of the nine members:

(i) three shall be from any of the following units:

1.       the Department of Personnel;

2.       the Department of Budget and Fiscal Planning;
