(1) VIOLATED ANY PROVISION OF THIS SUBTITLE;

(2) BEEN CONVICTED OF A FELONY, A CRIME OF MORAL TURPITUDE,
OR ANY CRIMINAL OFFENSE INVOLVING DISHONESTY OR BREACH OF TRUST; OR

(3) HAD ANY PROFESSIONAL LICENSE SUSPENDED OR REVOKED FOR A
FRAUDULENT OR DISHONEST PRACTICE.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 1 of this Act shall
take effect October 1, 1996.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 2 of this Act shall
take effect October 1, 1997.

CHAPTER 240

(House Bill 538)

AN ACT concerning

Jennings Randolph Lake - Department of Natural Resources - Regulatory Authority

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Department of Natural Resources to adopt boating
regulations exclusively applicable to Jennings Randolph Lake; requiring that the
regulations be developed in coordination with the State of West Virginia and allow
for joint enforcement in accordance with the Jennings Randolph Lake Project
Compact; providing that the regulations may differ from certain Maryland laws that
would otherwise apply; specifying matters the regulations may address; and
generally relating to the Department of Natural Resources' regulatory authority and
implementation of the Jennings Randolph Lake Project Compact.

Preamble

WHEREAS, The legislatures of Maryland and West Virginia have both enacted the
Jennings Randolph Lake Project Compact, relating to the joint management of Jennings
Randolph Lake located in Garrett County, Maryland and Mineral County, West Virginia,
and ratification of the Compact is currently pending in Congress; and

WHEREAS, Under the Compact, each state is to have concurrent jurisdiction for
the purpose of enforcing the laws of the respective states pertaining to natural resources
and boating activities at the Lake; and
