CHAPTER 226

(House Bill 439)

AN ACT concerning

Security Systems Technicians - licensure

FOR the purpose of repealing a certain provision of law relating to the termination of the
Maryland Security Systems Technician Act;
altering a certain requirement that
prohibits certain information from being divulged, except by court order, to persons
who are not members of the Department of State Police; specifying that certain
licensing fees include the cost of fingerprint card the Maryland and national
criminal record checks; exempting a portion of those fees from being paid into the
General Fund of the State; specifying that certain license applicants shall submit a
set of their fingerprints as part of the application process; altering the method by
which a certain license shall be displayed; reducing the minimum amount of a
certain bond required of certain employers providing security systems services;
requiring certain employers to execute a certain bond of at least a certain amount
under certain circumstances; providing for the liability under and coverage of
certain bonds; subject to the provisions of the Maryland Program Evaluation Act,
providing for the termination of certain provisions of law relating to the licensing and
regulation of security systems technicians; requiring an evaluation of the licensing and
regulation of security systems technicians to be made by a certain date; providing for the
application of certain provisions of law governing the licensure of security systems
technicians;
providing for the effective date of this Act; and generally relating to the
licensing requirements of security systems technicians.

BY repealing

Section 3 of Chapter 362 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1994, as amended by
Chapter 105 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1995

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Business Occupations and Professions

Section 18-203, 18-204, 18-303(a), 18-307(c), 18-308(a), and 18-401

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1995 Replacement Volume and 1995 Supplement)

BY adding to

Article - Business Occupations and Professions

Section 18-402," and 18-701 to be under the new subtitle "Subtitle 7 Termination of
Title"

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1995 Replacement Volume and 1995 Supplement)

BY adding to
